Vidaterra was born from a simple desire to do something good for the earth, for animals, and for people.

Food and farming have been central to my life for a long time—first as a patient, then as an informed consumer, and now as a career. In my early twenties I was diagnosed with a serious digestive disease and spent much of that decade trying to rebuild my health. Food seemed to be both the problem and a potential solution, so I read everything I could find on the topic. I learned how our food is grown, how animals are farmed, and how our industrial production systems are destroying our land, perpetuating animal cruelty and hurting the people they’re meant to nourish.

From that point on, I tried to buy from farms I knew, support organic growers, and seek out animal products from places I could actually visit. Over the last 25 years I have tried to support this space with my consumer dollars. Lately, I think I’ve seen something shift. Regenerative, ecological, organic farming is starting to move from the fringes. Large farms, food processors, investors, and governments are starting to pay attention.

Vidaterra exists because we want to help move that change forward.

Why Land Regeneration and Regenerative Farming? Because it’s where we can have the biggest impact.

The time to act is now. The time to support regenerative farmers is now. The time to heal our earth is now.

Vidaterra is a startup: we’re thinking big—but we’re also honest about starting small.

  • If we can bring a few acres of soil back to life and stop a field from being sprayed with    harmful chemicals, that’s a win.
  • If we can give a few more animals safe, outdoor lives in healthy pastures, that’s a win.
  • If we can plant trees and hedgerows and watch birds and bees return, that’s a win.

Each of those “small” wins matter. Acre by acre, field by field, we can turn our land into living, resilient ecosystems that feed people, shelter wildlife, capture carbon and help heal the earth.

That’s what Vidaterra is here to do.
